Guitar Chords Beginners – Hallelujah
GUITAR CHORDS BEGINNERS – HALLELUJAH
Beginners guitar chords can still seem a bit daunting especially as they are called ‘beginners guitar chords’.
Going back to my very first day as a beginner guitarist, I was happy to even play a note or two, let alone master a chord, in all honesty, I was so overwhelmed at the thought of placing so many fingers down at once, I simply avoided my first chords for a few weeks.
Now time has moved on and I am no more a beginner guitarist, I decided to revisit the fundamental chord shapes I first learnt and adapt them.
BEGINNER CHORD BASICS
In “Theory” a chord is just three or more notes played together.
So with this goal of playing a chord in mind, we only need to strike three or more strings to make a chord.
A good question to ask now, would be; why do “beginner” guitar chords have more than one or two fingers down at once and generally play 4, 5 or 6 strings?
The chords floating around the internet and many great books for guitar have simply become standard go to’s in practice.
Which is great, we have a good foundation in place that most guitarists should know.
But bare in mind, I spent a few weeks to even months completely avoiding these chords as I thought they looked too complicated….
As do many children and even adults.
As a chord only requires three or more notes to resonate at once, I have supplied what I consider to be the easiest ways I have found to play chords for Hallelujah and any other song that will require the chords, C, Am, F, G & E7.
A great way to practice these will be to strum twice for each chord and do your best to move to the next.
I hope you enjoy this simplified tutorial, the images below and the song.
